Cumbria

We drove out of London first thing in the morning, and arrived late afternoon to this view in Borrowdale, south of Keswick in Cumbria. The Lake District is a place of beauty and tranquility, which makes it a perfect location for a break from city breaks.  It’s a little too quiet for us, but spending a long weekend here was good for our souls if tough on our soles.

This area has inspired writers, painters, poets and photographers.  I’m no poet, so I won’t even attempt to describe its magic.  I’ll let the photographs do the talking for me.

The final photo is one we all took on our phones, cameras and even on my daughter’s instant camera.  We parked the car on our drive back from Keswick to the hotel (dinner getting cold in the car), and let the mosquitos feed on us while feasting on the colours of the sunset.
